This is my 19th year at Canton Local Schools. For the first 16 years of my career, I taught elementary music at Prairie College, Amos McDannel and Walker. During those years, I also taught fifth grade band until the fifth grade was moved to Faircrest. I am very excited to be back in instrumental music at Faircrest and Canton South this year. What I think is really fun, and makes me a little nostalgic/teary, is that my last fifth grade band before the schools restructured are now my senior band members at Canton South. And, no, that doesn't mean I'm old.
My background... I graduated from Perry Local in 1996 and went on to The Ohio State University where I earned a Bachelor's degree in Music Education. Go Bucks! I started working in Canton Local in 2000, after graduation, and have since earned my Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Ashland University. I play French horn and teach lessons privately out of my home and at Kent State University, Stark Campus. I am also an active performer in this area. I have an ten-year-old daughter, Elise, who you may see from time to time as she likes to "assist" me at the football games.
